Immigration will not go in Kan. House budget
    Associated Press - May 9, 2010 4:44 PM ET

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) - A Kansas lawmaker has failed to insert a proposal modeled after Arizona's new immigration law into the Kansas House budget bill.

Rep. Anthony Brown says the measure "denies benefits to those folks who can't prove their status."

The Wichita Eagle reported the amendment was read early Saturday.

Eventually, the rules committee decided the idea couldn't be added to an appropriations bill. The members decided the proposal was "more policy than appropriations."

Brown insists the issue will return and that the proposal does affect state budget issues.

One think the Eudora Republican noted was that the amendment would block noncitizens from receiving public benefits.

The Arizona law empowers police to question anyone they suspect of being in the country illegally.

i hope the people of Kansas put their foot down and insist this immigration bill be attached to some type of bill and passed this year. You go Kansas! GO! GO! GO!

Every state needs to be doing the same thing. Wake Up States. Take it back, and take it back now.

A Kansas newspaper poll shows that 70% of the local people agree with the Arizona law. Only 29% are against it.
No Amnesty! An average of 25 Americans are killed every day by illegal alien criminals that have no right to be here.

That's great, cube! That's how it's running ... 70% or more in almost all the polls.
