KY: Prison time for hiring illegals
Prison time for hiring illegals
By Jim Hannah • jhannah@nky.com • July 21, 2008
COVINGTON – Longtime Fort Wright politician and business leader Jeff Wolnitzek was sentenced today to eight months in prison for using illegal immigrant labor at his commercial interior contracting company.
He and his Crescent Springs-based business, Spectrum Interiors, also will forfeit $2 million earned from the illegal scheme.

07-22-2008, 08:54 AM #2Spectrum didn’t hire illegals for cheap labor, said Wolnitzek’s attorney, Michael Bouldin. He said subcontractors were paid up to $19 per hour, $1.50 more than Spectrum employees. A company spokesman said Spectrum used subcontractors who employed illegal immigrants because they provided a reliable, hard-working workforce in a tight labor market.
Let's not forget that for just $1.50 more than what he paid LEGAL workers, he wasn't paying state and federal taxes on their wages, or workers comp or SS, which makes them CHEAP labor!
LEGAL workers were paid $1.50 less and had all those goodies taken out of the checks. On top of that LEGAL workers were subsidizing the baby making mamas of these illegal aliens and a tsunami of anchor babies!
What a farce! They should have doubled the fine and given him at least 5 YEARS in jail just for that lame snow job! He was a councilman to boot!!Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

So was this a tax court or an illegal alien sentencing?

I would have preferred a longer jail sentence. Serious jail time may cause some business owners to comply with the law. Unfortunayely, some are too greedy to obey.
I hope his competitors sue him for using unfair busness practices ! Hopefully, they take away his entire company. He derserves severe punishment.

This piece of garbage should be locked up with the key thrown away. "Spectrum didn't hire illegals for cheap labor he employed illegal immigrants because they provided a reliable, hard-working workforce in a tight labor market." Oh, here we go again with the tired, bullcrap totally wrong and insulting mantra of the illegal alien advocates that Americans are lazy, Americans won't do certain work, Americans don't work hard. Just what do these illegal God-sends (McCain's "God's Children") to our country do that American citizens and legal residents haven’t done before the illegals invaded in force just during and after 1986’s amnesty legislation?
Native born citizens and LEGAL immigrants are what built this country, not illegal aliens!!! Suddenly, we're supposed to believe that we can't and won't do the work that we have been doing the last 231 years? This asinine lawyer should be disbarred for uttering these lies and nonsense.
American jobs for American citizens, first and foremost. Period! End of story!Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Addiction to cheap labor causes myopia, tunnel vision and mental disorders. It causes one to not care a tinker's damn for his fellow citizens, the laws of his country and for what is right and just. The disease of addiction to cheap labor cannot be cured; it can only be controlled. It is an insidious disease that manifests itself in those that embrace illegal aliens into the work force. Those individuals addicted to cheap labor as a means of their existence must be quarantined; otherwise greedy, selfish, weak minded, spineless and other easily infected people could be infected with this horrible, debilitating disease.

This is a very good case and result for our team because it breaks into the subcontractors that many unscrupulous employers use to try and shield themselves!
