Los Angeles City Council Debates Forcing Private Citizens To Violate Federal Law

The Los Angeles city council’s Planning and Land Use Management Committee unanimously approved an ordinance that will effectively force all home improvement stores in the city to violate federal immigration laws against harboring illegal aliens and place the owners in serious jeopardy of being fined, imprisoned and possibly losing their businesses to government seizure and forfeiture of their property.

The ordinance, if approved by the full city council would require home improvement stores that are 100,000 square feet or larger to set aside space for illegal aliens seeking employment from the store’s customers. Furthermore, the store owners would be required to provide the illegal aliens they are being forced to harbor with drinking water, bathrooms, tables and chairs and trash facilities.

It was said of Miami years ago, but I think it applies to California as well: "Will the last American to leave, turn out the lights and please bring the flag."

I think I hear the ALIPAC helicopters in the distance to come pick me up off my roof, my house is easy to find it's the only one flying the Red, White and Blue. 8O :wink:

Re: Los Angeles: If passed, a new ordinance would force Lowes & Home Depot stores to build a shelters and bathrooms for illegal day workers who loiter in their parking lots looking for work from small businesses and homeowners.

I don't want illegals, let alone shelters for them!!

If I hear that Lowes builds a shelter for illegals, I will NEVER shop at Lowes again.

Can they legally force private businesses to do this? What happens if Lowe's refuses?

This is simple really. All the store owners have to do if file in court. States do NOT have the right to impose or enforce laws that directly contradict federal law. Take it to the Supreme Court.
