ARLINGTON, Va., Oct. 12 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The executive director of ProEnglish, a national organization that advocates for making English the official language, blasted the Ohio Civil Rights Commission for filing "an absurd and dangerous complaint" against a restaurant owner for posting a sign reading "For Service Speak English." K.C. McAlpin labeled the complaint against Tom Ullum of the Pleasure Inn in Mason, Ohio, as "a blatant violation of the owner's First Amendment right of free speech and a total misreading of a state law banning refusal of service based on national origin."
Ohio law says it is unlawful for any proprietor "of a place of public accommodation" to deny the "full enjoyment of the accommodation based on race, color, religion sex, national origin, disability, age of ancestry." ProEnglish is offering legal assistance to Ullum, who says, "The sign means exactly what it says... none of the employees speak any language other than English and, therefore, would be unable to communicate with any patrons who are not well versed in the English language."
"Trying to equate someone's national origin with the language they speak is a deliberately distorted definition that has been rejected time and again by the courts," McAlpin notes. "The words 'national origin' mean where someone was born and nothing else."
"The members and staff of the Ohio Civil Rights Commission need a remedial course on the American Constitution and the First Amendment," added McAlpin. "Even though they pretend to champion 'diversity,' it's clear by their actions they want to be multicultural thought police and prosecute anyone who thinks differently than they do," he said.
ProEnglish is offering legal assistance to the Pleasure Inn owner, who is asking the Ohio commission to reconsider its decision.

My neighbor told me that on 700 WLW yesterday with Cunningham. He had the lady from the Ohio Civil Rights Commission on his show, and after he finished with her, she hung up on him. I wish I would have heard this one.
I guess I have laid down on the Job, I need to get William on the Cunningham Show.http://www.alipac.us/

Mr. Tom Ullum was on KHOW 630 AM radio Denver 5 A.M. to 9 A.M with talk show host Peter Boyles. Boyles is talking about immigration almost everyday on his show if you can get it on streaming audio.
It is like Boyles said, a sign that says "no shirt, no shoes, no service" is OK but speak English is not? What about Mr. Ullum's rights? Mr. Ullum says anyone is welcome in his establishment...just speak English!
He said he was just about to take the sign down because he changes it often but then some school bus driver made the complaint and he says he isn't taking it down until a judge tells him too! This case could end up at the supreme court I kid you not! Anna Nicole Smith is there why not this fellow over free speech? He also said he does not like the ACLU but it is the ACLU who should be sticking up for him!!
