NY police looking for immigrant in girl rape

CLYDE, N.Y. (AP) — Police are looking for an illegal Mexican immigrant accused of raping a 6-year-old girl while working in an upstate New York agricultural area.

Dagoberto Ruiz-Barrios (dah-goh-BEAR"-toh Roo-EEZ' BAH'-ree-ohs) faces charges including rape and predatory sexual assault against a child.

State police investigator John Stubbe (STUH'-bee) told The Associated Press that the child's doctor reported the alleged assaults in mid-July in Clyde, a village 50 miles east of Rochester.

The investigator says the child's mother was visiting her boyfriend when the girl was assaulted by the man's roommate, on two occasions.

The 40-year-old suspect disappeared after a grand jury indicted him, and authorities have no idea where he is.

At the time of the attack, Ruiz-Barrios was part of a crew building a grain silo.

State Police are searching for a man who is accused of raping a 6-year-old Sodus girl.


Dagoberto Ruiz-Barrios, who has been using the alias Miguel Gonzalez, is accused of three counts of predatory sexual assault against a child, one count of first-degree rape, and two counts of first-degree criminal sexual act, all felonies, said State Police Investigator John Stubbe.

Ruiz-Barrios is an undocumented immigrant from Mexico, and reportedly left Batavia on a bus on July 14 or 15. He is rumored to have traveled south to Tennessee or Alabama, said Stubbe. Ruiz-Barrios is 40 years old, according to documentation associated with his alias, said Stubbe.

The victim's doctor first reported the assaults on July 15, said Stubbe.
