SAN DIEGO (CBS 8 ) - At least three suspected illegal immigrants were arrested Saturday after a drug smuggling boat washed ashore along La Jolla.
A resident spotted the small boat near Windansea Beach just after 6:00 a.m. Saturday.
The U.S. Border Patrol and San Diego police arrived on the scene to find three people unloading what appeared to be 10 bales of marijuana off the boat.
"Once the individuals had the narcotics off the boat, then they were trying to put the boat back into the water. And I suspect to probably leave and then the narcotics would be picked up at a later time," said a Border Patrol representative.

The three suspects were arrested.
Homeland Security is now handling the investigation. http://www.cbs8.com/story/22290337/drug-smuggling-boat-washes-ashore-in-la-jolla
