While Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Chieftess Julie "Blackface" Myers a/k/a "The ICE Princess" tries to wait out the hold on her nomination, she's engaging in more of her usual absurdity in non-enforcement of our nation's immigration laws.

You'll love the latest . . . with a catchy feminist twist. If you're an illegal alien female (I doubt this will work with males but, with The ICE Princess, ya never know), you can claim you are lactating and must nurse your baby. And presto, you will be released from custody. Yes, just the latest item that puts the lie to her claim that catch and release of illegal aliens has ended. It hasn't.

Check out this memo ( http://www.debbieschlussel.com/archives ... onmemo.pdf ) to all ICE Special Agents in Charge and Field Office Directors from The ICE Princess herself, as proof. And to top it off, she is citing failed former INS chief Doris Meissner and a memo she wrote in 2000. Um, hello . . . . Isn't her failed leadership and your continued failed leadership how we got 20 million plus illegal aliens here in the first place? Here are the scintillating words of The ICE Princess on how to continue La Leche Catch And Release:

This memorandum serves to highlight the importance of exercising prosecutorial discretion [DS: Fancy phraseology for "if I want to release them, I can"] when making administrative arrest and custody determinations for aliens who are nursing mothers. The commitment by ICE to facilitate an end to the "catch and relase" procedure for illegal aliens does not diminish the responsibility of ICE agents and officers to use discretion in identifying and responding to meritorious health related cases and caregiver issues.

The process for making discretionary decisions is outlined in the attached memorandum of November 7, 2000, entitled "Exercising Prosecutorial Discretion." [DS: by failed INS Chieftess Doris Meissner] Field agents and officers are not only authorized by law to exercize discretion within the authority of the agency, but are expected to do so in a judicious manner at all stages of the enforcement process. [DS: In other words, hey agents, please find excuses to release aliens into the general .'

For example, in situations where officers are considering taking a nursing mother into custody, the senior ICE field managers should consider:

* Absent any statutory detention requirement or concerns such as national security threats to public safety or other investigative insterests, the nursing mother should be released on an Order of Recognizance or Order of Supervision and the Alternatives to Detention programs should be considered as an additional enforcement tool.


As one of the many angry ICE agents writes:

This is going over real well. It's been called the Lactation Memo. Seems every female illegal alien arrested these days is now claiming she has a kid at home, no daddy around and that she's breast feeding--this is the way they get released. It's the catch and lactate policy. La Leche League is doing an awesome job and our "leader" is right up there with the really important memos. Talk about a kick to the nuts of morale AGAIN. How bad is it when Jules is citing to Doris Meissner memos. In the words of Charlie Brown, "We're Doomed !". Don't get me wrong, child nourishment is important, but how TF is an agent supposed to know if someone is nursing? [Nipples] Check ? Ted Kennedy, William Delahunt try blocking immigration enforcement ("Lactation Memo")

The Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement ("ICE") has created a new, not-yet-public document called "Guidelines for Identifying Humanitarian Concerns among Administrative Arrestees When Conducting Worksite Enforcement Operations" (link). While it will be sold as a humanitarian effort, the goal strongly appears to be to be to hamper immigration enforcement and to help illegal aliens remain in the U.S.

[The document outlines] elaborate stepsfederal agents should follow to quickly identify detainees who have children or those who should be released for other reasons, such as pregnancy or illness. They also guarantee access to legal counsel, emergency medical care, and social workers...

[Ted Kennedy]'s spokeswoman, Melissa Wagoner, said that "New Bedford was the catalyst, and illustrated the need for national reform." Wagoner's statement, which accompanied a copy of the guidelines sent to the Globe [by Kennedy's office], said the document was the product of discussions among the agency, Kennedy, and US Representative William D. Delahunt.

This follows a so-called "Lactation Memo", a copy of which is available here ( http://www.debbieschlussel.com/archives ... -_ice.html ). And, shortly before that came an Urban Institute/National Council of La Raza ( http://lonewacko.com/blog/archives/007196.html ) study opposing enforcement and even encouraging changes in favor of those charged with identity theft. Teddy Kennedy crows over his victory here ( http://kennedy.senate.gov/newsroom/pres ... F42451B587 ). Obviously, if he really wanted to be humanitarian, he'd work to discourage illegal immigration rather than continually enabling it.

Its easy to breastfeed in jail or wherever you are I managed just fine. Keep them together.

Yes, they do. And, so I've heard from one of my neighbors, she has co-workers who are taking full advantage of them......not because they are actually nursing their children who are being bottle fed formula, but rather to maintain lactation "just in case".

This nursing mother crap is just the latest and greatest ploy.....scam, if you will. :roll: :roll:

Maybe I'm heartless, but I say ship the kid, the mother and the milk back to their homeland. If they are released because they are nursing, they will have another reason to drop more anchors and continue to breast feed as long as possible.

Uhhhhhhhhh, call me stupid but....just when does lactating exonerate you from breaking the law and having committed crimes?

Yes they do. So this mother should have no problem supplying breast milk for her baby. Mothers who work use them all the time for feedings when they won't be with their baby. The invader mother would never purchase this herself. It would have to be provided at the taxpayer expense. Then the ACLU would sue the government (local, state, & fed) stating the invader mother cannot be required to use it.

If anyone has the time....or inclination.....go check out the LeLeche International website. LeLeche, from some research I've been doing, seems to be a driving force behind this nursing IA mother nonsense and has been actively fighting the detention and deportation of nursing mothers overseas for awhile now. They've now brought it here, apparently.

LeLeche promotes breastfeeding for as long as the mother and/or child feel it is necessary.......a practice called "extended breastfeeding". In fact, there is a story on the site by a woman who was nursing all three of her kids at one time.......a baby, her then 3 year old toddler, and her first child who was presumably 5-6 years old at the time because, to paraphrase, it "comforted him" and "he wasn't to be left out of the mix". Unless I missed it, she never mentioned just when her kids were weaned.

This is a ploy which is going to be played to the hilt. Right now we are only hearing about mothers not being available to nurse. What concessions are going to be demanded next.......no arrest, monitoring, or other action taken at all because stressful situations can impede milk production, or might upset a baby rendering it incapable of nursing, etc?

Are limits and restrictions going to be imposed or are mothers with kids over 1 year old going to be allowed to use the nursing mother excuse indefinitely? Is medical documentation going to be required to prove that a mother is actually nursing or are women who've given birth....like my neighbor's co-workers......going to be able to get away with pumping to stimulate milk production even though they are not really nursing their children?

Fortunately, this lactation business is not preventing deportations but it's going to quickly get out of hand unless some very clear guidelines and restrictions are put into place. :?

Funny we have no such provisions for legal citizens who are nursing at the time of their arrest. Our judicial system even incarcerates pregnant women, and has no qualms with separating mother from baby after birth.

Why do they continue to be manipulated by people who have no legal right to even be in this country? If this is permitted, it will only be the beginning. The Lord only knows what they will attempt next.
