Laredo Sector Border Patrol and Multiple Agencies Shuts Down Stash House

Laredo Sector Border Patrol and Multiple Agencies Shuts Down Stash House

    Release Date: December 11, 2020

LAREDO, TEXAS – Working together with Homeland Security Investigations and Webb County Constables Precinct 2 deputies, Laredo Sector Border Patrol shuts down a stash house in south Laredo.

The incident occurred during the late afternoon of December 9, when agents acted on information of suspicious activity at a home on Seymour Avenue. A consensual search of the residence resulted in the discovery of 36 individuals.

All of the individuals were medically screened at the scene. Most of the individuals were not wearing any personal protective equipment (PPE).

They were determined to be illegally in the United States and from the country of Mexico, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. Special Agents of Homeland Security Investigations took them into custody pending investigation.

Despite a noted increase in COVID-19 infections among detainees, the smuggling and housing of large groups of individuals in stash houses without PPE not only endangers the people being smuggled, but the safety of our Nation.

The Laredo Sector is made up of agents who partner with their law enforcement counterparts to meet the agency’s Enduring Mission Priorities of countering terrorism, combatting transnational crime, securing the border, and facilitating lawful trade and travel while protecting revenue.

To report suspicious activity such as alien and/or drug smuggling, download the “USBP Laredo Sector” App or contact the Laredo Sector Border Patrol toll free at 1-800-343-1994. More stash houses that need to be cleared out and bulldozed to clean up these neighborhoods.

36 more to load on a barge and ship their carcasses back home!
