Mexico declares first bilingual state (NOT CA.)

Bilingual state: Hispanic Link News Service reported that Tamaulipas, which borders Texas, has declared itself Mexico's first bilingual state. The state – whose major cities are Nuevo Laredo, Ciudad Victoria and Tampico – is requiring its 320,000 public-school students to learn conversational English.

So, the Mexicans in Mexico are going to learn English, but the illegal aliens in the U.S. want to speak Spanish and expect us to learn Spanish?

Oh boy.....there'll be Hell to pay in the streets of Mexico over THIS!!

They were already flipping out in Nuevo Laredo over the "migration" of "too many" Americans there who were undermining and threatening their language and culture

Only problem is, the Mexicans are not bound by PC and laws protecting foreign nationals from hate crimes and violence. My guess is that this won't last more than a few years because the Mexicans have made it perfectly clear that they will not tolerate the "invasion" by Americans and American culture.

Are you serious? I hadn't heard that one yet. I sure believe it, as completely insanely crazy as this all is. Was it an ALIPAC article? I would love to have that for my files, when some PC moron says Americans are bad for complaining about the same thing.

    Hey folks--

It is all part of the long range plan to take back the lands they say belong to them. Good old revanchism. They will grind out a large number of English speaking youth who will invade the USA. It will be much harder to find the violators who have a good command of English. If I thorught it was just for educating the kids I would be happy for them, but it is so they can improve the invasion techniques.

    I am serious BIN.

There has been a growing movement in Mexico to express displeasure over Americans moving into Mexico.......I believe the quote was something along the lines of that Americans "need to learn that Mexico is not an extension of the United States".

They fear that their culture, language, medical system, etc. are under threat and they just won't tolerate it.

There's a little bit of information about it floating around out there, and one of the articles I read, in helping my daughter do a school report on illegal immigration, mentioned something about some folks in Nuevo Laredo expressing the same feelings as others across Mexico. If I remember correctly, their bitch was more in line with the problems Americans had caused for them as a result of the sister city relationship with Laredo, the implication being that if Americans had not encroached on THEM, inflicted OUR negative ways on THEM, etc. they would not have the problems they do today.

Same old blame game, just a different day of the week, that's all.

    Probably true, Misterbill.

I really do believe the invasion and occupation is now part of Mexico's and its people's "collective consciousness". They have rationalized it, feel they deserve it, want it, have imagined it, dreamed of it, been encouraged by their leaders AND OURS to do it. And now they are closer than ever! So now they are purposely taking steps to ensure it.

Their fatal mistake is believing they will have the same America it is now, with the only difference being it will be owned and controlled by Mexico, its people, or at least Hispanics, and their culture. They could not be more wrong. They are eventually in for a big surprise, and it won't take long.

Thanks for the info, azwreath. That is simply hilarious. So we can just use the very words of Mexicans in Mexico in responding to some of this nonsense. Quote the Mexicans in Mexico, and if someone starts accusing you of the usual "racist" crap, just show them the source of your words. I might try googling/researching it some.

And good for you helping your daughter do a school report on illegal immigration. Is any view other than "Poor undocumented immigrants, evil America discriminates against them" actually allowed in her classroom?? She won't get an "F" grade, or be suspended for such non-PC behavior??

The current Governor of Tamaulipas is relatively enlightened and interested in investment. It seems that he belives that if there are more people who can speak both languages well that it will be easier for Tamaulipans in general to get jobs. Well there is a way to get more bilingual people there quickly. Deport illegal aliens students who have graduated from American schools.
I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
