July 31, 2014 – South Texas ICE detention facility to house adults with children

Beginning Aug. 1, and in response to the influx of families that have recently illegally entered the United States, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will use its civil detention facility in Karnes City to house adults with children. Full Story

July 29, 2014 – ICE repatriates Mexican murder suspect captured in Las Vegas

A Mexican national captured recently in North Las Vegas, who is wanted for murder in his native country, was turned over to Mexican authorities at a San Diego-area border crossing by Las Vegas-based officers from ICE's Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO). Full Story

July 30, 2014 – 3 Mexican nationals sentenced to more than 9 years in prison for their roles involving 115 smuggled aliens discovered in Houston stash house

Aug. 1, 2014 – 'Geographic Targeting Order' shines spotlight on cross-border cash couriers

A series of reporting initiatives designed to greatly improve the transparency of cross-border cash movements was announced Aug. 1 by the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, in close coordination with its Mexican counterpart, the Unidad de Inteligencia Financiera. Preet Bharara, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, and James J. Hunt, Acting Special Agent in Charge, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), New York Division, announced today that Patrick Morgan was arrested this morning in Buffalo, NY on narcotics distribution and narcotics conspiracy charges. Morgan is expected to be presented later today in the Western District of New York before United States Magistrate Judge Hugh B. Scott.
