Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested 3,100 illegal immigrants throughout the country in the past week, calling it calling it the largest sweep in the agency's history.

More than 100 arrests were made in San Diego alone.

This is part of ICE's "Operation Cross Check" a nationwide round-up of immigration fugitives facing felony convictions.

The six day roundup was part of the Obama Administration's strategy to prioritize the number of deportation cases, by removing those with criminal backgrounds first.

ICE agents debrief before heading out to find some of the country's most dangerous criminals.

Those arrested have a variety of charges, including kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, drug trafficking and child cruelty.

ICE's nationwide Operation Cross Check rounded up 3,100 criminals in 24 cities, with 114 of those arrests coming from San Diego and Imperial Counties.

From residences to the workplace, ICE agents made one arrest, after another.

Former U.S. Attorney Pete Nunez says he hopes ICE keeps up the good work.

“The only problem we have with anyone of these kinds of things is, is this it? Because certainly the problem isn't over,” he said. “By taking enforcement actions like this we promote public safety by getting criminals off the street. They're not the kind of people you want to see in your community.”
