    The new immigration bill under discussion in Washington, D.C., has something for everyone not to like.

    Critics from the right decry the provisions allowing illegal immigrants to stay in the U.S. as amnesty.

    Critics on the left argue that the requirements placed on those immigrants are too high and will effectively keep them in the shadows.

    Then there’s Collier County Sheriff Don Hunter.

    Hunter, who has been a leader among his peers on the topic of illegal immigration, focuses in on a couple of points in the bill that are off the beaten path of commentary.

    [iBut this passage, found in Section 144 of the bill, can’t be encouraging, “Nothing in this subtitle shall be construed to authorize state or local law enforcement agencies or their officers to exercise federal immigration law enforcement authority.â€
