The Lost Country

It is becoming harder to reject the notion that the American experiment is failing. As a country we have subscribed wholesale to the self-destructive European immigration model, even as that continent flounders in an increasingly angry demographic sea. Importing large numbers of poor, unskilled, uneducated “workers” to support massive social spending has given the French unassimilated ghettos of unemployed Muslims who, instead of working menial jobs to pay taxes, partake of welfare and riotous, car-torching behavior in gratitude to their hosts.

On our side of the Atlantic, America has encouraged by default a steadily increasing flow of poor, unskilled, uneducated immigrants from Mexico and points south for decades. The result, especially apparent in recent years, has been the creation of an unassimilated Spanish-speaking sub-culture in America, with its own television, newspapers, and “Press 1 for English, 2 for Spanish” automated phone messages. Our government has made recent showy gestures to demonstrate a commitment to securing the nation’s borders against the illegal tide, but the farce is simply too obvious to conceal.

Border Fence Firm Snared for Hiring Illegal Workers

December 14, 2006 · A fence-building company in Southern California agrees to pay nearly $5 million in fines for hiring illegal immigrants. Two executives from the company may also serve jail time. The Golden State Fence Company’s work includes some of the border fence between San Diego and Mexico.

Ironically, it appears that the fences to keep illegal immigrants out of the country cannot be built without illegal immigrant labor.

Golden State Fence’s attorney, Richard Hirsch, admits his client broke the law. But he says the case proves that construction companies need a guest-worker program.

Obviously with only 300 million-plus people in the country it is extremely difficult to find anyone to build anything. As we all know, no fence, home, or building was ever constructed in America before Mexicans started streaming across the border in large numbers in the last few decades. Besides, someone has to “do the work Americans won’t do.”
