Maine: 9 So. American illegals caught via tip to police!

    S. Americans charged with illegal entry in Maine

    December 9, 2008

RANGELEY, Maine --Nine men from Ecuador, Bolivia and Brazil have been taken into custody by U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement after officials got a tip that they were working illegally for construction contractors in the Rangeley area.

Officials say seven of the men were charged with illegal entry into the U.S. and two face more serious charges of re-entry after deportation.

Benjamin Moreno from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection's Houlton office said the men were arrested over the weekend and their cases have been referred to the U.S. attorney in Portland.

Moreno would not release the names of the men or their employer.

Why and how are these people still getting into the country? Are they coming in through private airports?

South Americans come up through Mexico.
I turned in the Chinese place in my town, last week.

If we keep it up others in Maine will know to turn in anyone illegally working here or sponging off us.

This would be a good story to forward on to Maine's two Republican Senators, Snowe and Collins. I've heard they need a lot of work.

Yes, both Sens. Snowe and Collins have bad grades on illegal immigration from NumbersUSA. I would make sure you call them and urge them to oppose all forms of legalization/amnesty schemes or you will see much more of this in Maine.

This story really irked me...during our annual trek to Maine during the summer, I was at a local grocery store waiting in line...heard two older gent's talking to each other about how "times are tough"...one man told the other he had a hard time during the summer season at his sandwich shop at a little shore town....he told the other guy he's looking to work as many part-time jobs he can get during the off-season........

....suffice it to say both of these Mainers would be happy to have had the jobs these illegals were holding.
