Wednesday, June 25, 2008

Tonight, we’ll have full coverage of our nation’s economy
following the Federal Reserve’s decision to leave interest
rates unchanged and all the day’s news from the campaign trail.
Plus:

* Mexican authorities have released the man believed to be
responsible for the January death of U.S. Border Patrol Agent
Luis Aguilar. The suspect allegedly ran over Aguilar with a
truck while attempting to flee back to Mexico after entering
the country illegally near a recreation area along on the
Arizona border.

* Local law enforcement may lose a crucial tool to help
identify dangerous criminal illegal aliens on the streets of
our communities. The House Appropriations Committee has voted
against the 287g program which allows ICE to train local police
to identify illegal aliens on the streets and in prison.

* Railroad company CSX is holding its annual shareholders’
meeting in New Orleans. CSX is the target of a proxy battle led
by a shadowy foreign hedge, which refuses to disclose its
investors and has been convicted of securities crimes in
federal court. CSX serves sensitive U.S. locations such as
nuclear plants and military bases. We’ll have the latest
details.

* The top ranks of a number of government agencies are not
fully staffed. We’ll take a look at which agencies need help
and find out how these vacancies affect our government’s
ability to do its job.

* The deplorable Nielsen company announced another round of
layoffs at its Oldsmar, Florida office. American workers will
be replaced by workers at TaTa Consultancy, an Indian
outsourcing company and the fourth largest user of H1-b visas.
Nielsen says that taking good jobs away from ordinary Americans
is just what it has to do to remain “globally competitive.â€
