A South Carolina Patriot Speaks Out

HERE IS THE LATEST (Posted May 21) ON IMMIGRATION IN SC

    My Dear Fellow South Carolinians,

How many innocent people must be killed by illegal aliens before our General Assembly decides to stop the illegal alien invasion that we are experiencing in South Carolina? How much blood is the SC General Assembly, particularly the SC Senate, willing to have in their hands? How many mayors in SC cities and towns will continue their sanctuary policies?

These are three questions that came to my mind when I found out about the death of 17-year-old Bluffton High School Junior, Josh George, at the hands of a drunken illegal alien. Over the weekend on the way home from the prom, a vehicle ran a red light and struck the driver's side of Josh's car, ejecting him through a window, and the driver who caused the accident sped off. Fortunately, no one else was with the high school student inside the vehicle. Juan Rodriquez, 20, was arrested and charged with felony drunken-driving, leaving an accident with great bodily injury (Josh did not die instantly), driving without a license, operating an uninsured vehicle and disregarding a traffic signal. Bond was set at $750,000 but will likely go up now that the charge is felony DUI. The suspect had first said he was from Guatemala, and then changed his story and said he was a native of Mexico.

The illegal-alien said he worked as a painter. Should the Bluffton police not find for whom he works? Any death, rape or injury resulting from an illegal alien, is a death, rape or injury that could have been prevented. This death, however, easily could have been prevented. Beaufort County, in December 2006, enacted the first-in-SC workplace enforcement ordinance thanks to then County Councilwoman Starletta Hairston, who is now a candidate for the State House of Representatives Seat 123. This ordinance takes away the county license of an employer of illegal aliens.

Unfortunately, the county does not have jurisdiction over the cities and towns when it comes to licenses. Bluffton Mayor Hank Johnston (843.706.4500) , along with Hilton Head Island Mayor Tom Peeples and Beaufort Mayor Bill Rauch, have chosen to cave in to the employers of illegal aliens and totally exempt their towns from this ordinance. How many more of our children will have to die before these mayors get it? Call Mayor Johnston and ask them that. You can email the other two, by clicking on their names. Tell them to adopt the Beaufort County ordinance for which Starletta Hairston fought so hard to enact. Tell them to stop aiding and abetting illegal aliens. Tell them to uphold their oath of office. Please do call or email these individuals who are in total disregard of the federal law!

Of course, what incentives do these mayors have when our state legislators continue to refuse to give us an all-encompassing immigration bill that will result in the self deportation of illegal alliens? NONE! And Wednesday was another day that the legislature did not address immigration! The senate did manage to kill the spending cap legislation. The legislation will have to be re-introduced all over again, during the next legislative session. Don't our senate gets it? Obviously they are not interested in reigning-in spending, as our Governor Sanford has tried to do. WE MUST NOT FORGET!

Some senators and house members are trying to garner the necessary votes to stop the budget bill from becoming law until the legislature gives us an immigration bill without any loopholes. Word has it that the Budget Bill, which is currently in conference committee will be up for a vote TODAY, THURSDAY MAY 22. You must call both house and senate members to get them to block a vote on the budget bill. It is our only weapon to get an immigration bill without loopholes.

The senate resumes at 11:00 AM today. We will see for how long. They usually like to leave by noon or shortly thereafter.

You need to know what are the possible scenarios available to us on immigration bill. It would be very difficult to get anything done with H3032 in conference committee. A conference report requires 2/3 votes from each of the two bodies, the house and the senate, in order to rewrite the report. Having been there already in the past few months, we know that the conference- committee route, more likely than not, will be a waste of time.

So that leaves us with H4400, which is on the Calendar. Recall that McConnell's Amendment 1 was objected to by David Thomas. If you look at the language of H4400, as it stands now, it does not have Amendment 1 in it. It still reads like the S392 that came back from the house. This means H4400 DOES NOT ADDRESS PRIVATE EMPLOYERS AT THIS POINT! But it can be amended, if the senate chooses to quit doing the bidding of the Chamber of Commerce.

Amendment 1 is unacceptable as McConnell introduced it! However, it only needs the removal of one sentence to make it right. The only reason we have to accept this avenue is that it will require only a simple majority, and according to senators with whom I have spoken, McConnell wants the final product to be one from the senate so that he can claim the credit. We don't care who gets the credit, we want the games to stop and we want a bill that will result in the self-deportation of the illegals that we now have in South Carolina. There is nothing more important than this issue, as it affects every other issue in our lives. We need to continue to repeat this point to our legislators, as the Farm Bureau claims that we have more important issues, but never quite named one.

Here is the sentence, in red, that makes the Amendment 1 impotent:

in Section 41-8-50 (D) (1) dealing with violations of 41-8-20.

    (D) Upon a finding of an occurrence involving a violation after an investigation pursuant to subsection (A) or after a random audit pursuant to Section 41-8-110(B):

    (1) for an occurrence involving a violation of Section 41-8-20, the private employer must be assessed a civil penalty of not less than one hundred dollars and not more than one thousand dollars for each violation. However, if a private employer maintains copies of all original documents provided by the employee at the time of employment that were used to complete the employee's federal Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification form and relies in good faith upon those documents, then the private employer must not be assessed a civil penalty.

If the senate convinces McConnell to remove the above sentence (in red letters), we could end up with a fairly good bill that will satisfy the people. The question is whether McConnell will do the right thing or the Chamber and Farm Bureau thing. This is where you need to put the pressure: On McConnell.

I met with a couple of senators Monday and they verified what we suspected and previously were told: If McConnell wants a bill passed, he will find a way to pass it. Had he not said that he was going to object on H3032, it would have passed. But we know what happened. And we have three weeks left, unless the budget is blocked indefinitely and until they get this done!

On a Mendacious Mac McConnell side note: He and fellow RINO Leatherman are hosting a reception for Democrat Super Liberal Senator Bob Ford. It seems that the Obama folks are fielding candidates to replace the old minority guard. This could bring a much needed breath of fresh air and real representation to minorities in SC. I am not saying that I agree with Obama, because I don't. What I am indicating is that an Obama nomination forever will neutralize the self-appointed minority leader that have done absolutely nothing for their constituents except exploit their misery for their own selfish advancement. They always talk about it, but do nothing about it. But then, this sounds like how the incumbent majority treats ALL of U.S.

If you have not read McConnell's propaganda piece from the last time he pulled his infamous SC-Verify (SC I-9) trick out of his sleeve, please do so now. If anyone thinks that I have misrepresented one sentence, please email and point it out. I don't think that anyone will, as I spent hours researching the facts so that I could respond with accuracy.

Thanks to those of you who have made phone calls, sent emails and letters, we have put tremendous pressure on incumbent senators and they are worried. Talk Radio has been a Godsend, particularly Upcountry's WORD AM. Without Talk Radio and the internet, "we the people" never would have been able to have such influence.

PLEASE REMEMBER that these senators are running scared and the Chamber of Commerce and Farm Bureau are losing some influence, they are all trying to use every possible method and tactic to discredit and infiltrate our movement and organizations. They have even wooed members of our organizations to betray our cause and disrupt our operations. This is par for the course. It's not personal, it's politics! Don't waste your time trying to debate nonsensical points. In fact, there is nothing to debate here. This issue is about the rule of law! It's not about Republicans or Democrats; not about left wing or right wing; IT'S ABOUT OUR SOUTH CAROLINA! We are at a critical juncture and if we don't hold incumbents accountable, "we the people" will forever be ignored.

As I told you before, if we don't get anything out of the legislature this year, there are legal recourses against them that we plan to take. I would rather not be too specific at this time, but I do want to tell you that I am committed to saving South Carolina's sovereignty and that of the United States of America, the state and country that I love! As I often say in my speeches, I already lost one country (Cuba). I will fight for this one until victory is attained. And we can attain victory if we band together and ALWAYS remain vigilant of traitors within our ranks. Given today's economic conditions, it makes it easy for some of these legislators to "make offers that individuals in dire straits find hard to refuse."

Upcountry WORD AM radio host Russ Castle has decided to launch "Operation We Have Had Enough" to oust incumbents. I praise him and thank God for this noble gentleman to come up with this great idea. Please listen to his show from 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM live on 1330 AM or 950 AM Mondays - Fridays. Some of you have told me that 950 AM reaches as far south as Chapin and other parts of Lexington County. However, you can listen to this station on the internet: Click here to listen to WORD-AM on your PC. Russ needs your help to make this operation successful. Please email Russ: russ@entercom.com and tell him that you want to be part of this operation to ousts incumbents!

I found a website, FITS news, that has listed all of the house and senate races in South Carolina. It lists the incumbents and it even tells you who the RINO's are. Sweet!

I would ask you to please continue to submit to me any and all questions that you may have on this and any issue that my organization researches. Just e-mail them to me at roangq@bellsouth.net. I will respond within 24 hours! Thanks to those of you who have forwarded me the responses from the senators. They are quite interesting and cautiously written.

If McConnell wants to put a good bill where his big mouth is, he will stop the grandstanding and games. The finger pointing must stop, the loopholes must stop and they must start representing "we the people" and NOT represent "Them the lobbyists." Illegals are running around our state as if they owned it! If they don't vote for this, illegals may just own our state someday. Remember that SC is the number one state in the USA in Hispanic growth. This is one statistic that we want to drop to 50th in the nation. We must not allowed the senators who are "money-soaked" by elitist interests to get away with this!

THIS IS OUR LAST CHANCE - ONLY 2 MORE WEEKS -

TO PASS REAL IMMIGRATION REFORM THIS YEAR!

It is imperative that as soon as you read this message you call and e-mail your SENATOR OR ALL SENATORS. Through your persistence we can prevail. This is an opportunity that won't happen again until 2012, when the entire senate is up for re-election again. South Carolina cannot afford to wait four more years. Call the House members also and ask them to NOT VOTE ON THE BUDGET BILL UNTIL WE HAVE AN IMMIGRATION BILL WITHOUT LOOPHOLES!

We must prevail or South Carolina will fail!

Please Also Call and/or email your legislator by clicking here: (Find Your Legislator ).

OR You Can Go To: TargetOC.org/sc

To Email As Many Legislators As you Want!

You may want to cut and paste the emails from ALL House members and All Senate Members into your personal account in case the legislators are ignoring the emails coming from TargetOC. Remember that some internet service providers only allow a maximum of 50 emails at one time. So for the house you will have to send three emails to get to all 124 members. For the senate, there are only 46. Just click on the links below:

When it comes to fighting illegal immigration, criminal employers and useless politicians in South Carolina, Roan Quintana-Garcia is in a class all by himself. He lives and breathes it every day and I admire the hell out of him for it. Roan is also running for a SC Senate seat here, trying to oust another useless one in his own district. The citizens of this great state are lucky to have someone of his caliber fighting on their behalf.
