Making Tuition More Affordable for Immigrants

There's a move to make education more affordable for illegal immigrants.

Representative Pedro Colon is announcing a provision in the state's budget to give undocumented immigrant students in–state tuition. Supporters say that most immigrant students were brought to this country as young children and did not have control over that aspect of their lives.

These students are often denied many forms of financial aid because they lack the paperwork. The provision makes higher education more affordable for them.

Senator Spencer Coggs supports the move. "In this bill, the state of Wisconsin would simply be saying that we would charge you what any Wisconsin resident for tuition to go here, so that you can become a productive citizen, so that you can become a success story, so that you can be a part of the American dream."

Under the measure students would still have to meet certain qualifications to be eligible for in–state tuition.

Wisconsin is among 18 other states looking at making immigrant students eligible for lower tuition. Seven states have already passed similar legislation.

So Representative Pedro wants to give 'undocumented' (illegal) students a break on tuition so they can be part of the American dream. Give me a break!

Nothing like the media trying to deceive the public once again with another misleading title by excluding the words illegal aliens from their article and trying to put illegal aliens on equal footing with legal immigrants who obey the laws and come here the right way.

If you have the time, write to these clowns at NBC and demand that they call the illegal aliens by their rightful name and stop using politically correct terms like immigrants and undocumented immigrants. You tell them that we know they are using these terms to deceive the public and that you will no longer stand for their biased yellow journalism. Tell them that either you report the news fairly or you will no longer view their network for news coverage. You probably don't watch NBC, but they don't know that.

Why would an individual come here legally when every signal that we send them tells them that our laws are meaningless.

When our SCOTUS does not understand the rule of law, our consititution, how can we expect our citizens to, much less immigrants. legal or otherwise.

    This is very discouraging.
