Border Patrol agents arrested a man suspected of overseeing a stash house.

When unauthorized immigrants were found inside a Rio Grande City home, Roy Villarreal told federal agents he was asleep and did not know how the immigrants ended up inside.
That was all before Villarreal, the alleged stash house manager, said he had been ck for “smoking rothe last three or four days,” according to a criminal complaint filed in federal court.
After receiving a tip about the known immigrant stash house, agents arrived at the home located on the 900 block of West Bluebonnet Street on the morning of Tuesday, Jan. 27.
A door in the back of the home was left open revealing multiple people inside, records show. They then exited the house per requests from the agents.
The 11 immigrants were suspected to have entered the country without proper documentation.
Rio Grande City police was also on scene and searched the home after receiving permission from the homeowner, the complaint says.
Villarreal and another woman were found inside the Rio Grande City home. They were then transported to the Rio Grande City Border Patrol Station where they provided a sworn statement.
The woman was charged with failure to identify and Villarreal was charged for the crime.
Two of the immigrants found at the home were also interviewed by federal agents, which implicated Villarreal in the crime.
A preliminary examination and detention hearing for Villarreal has been set for Feb. 2 at 3:00 in the afternoon.
