The man hospitalized last month after a tasing incident at the U.S. Port of Entry in San Luis is no longer in custody, according to a news release from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Victor L. Brabble, a CBP spokesman in Tucson, could not comment on the matter any further but did confirm that 41-year-old Jose Gutierrez Guzman, a longtime resident of Los Angeles before he was deported, is not presently in the agency's custody
According to CBP officials, on March 30, Gutierrez was being processed at the San Luis port of entry for entering the country illegally when he suddenly tried to flee back into Mexico. That is when CBP officers tased him.
