Police make county’s largest-ever pot bust

More than mature 1,000 marijuana plants were seized near Alsea Falls about 20 miles southwest of Corvallis on Thursday morning in what sheriff’s deputies say is the largest in county history.

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office, collaborating with the Corvallis Police Department, Bureau of Land Management and the Drug Enforcement Agency, descended on the marijuana garden in a remote part of southern Benton County at about 5 a.m.
