Man struck by Border Patrol truck arrested in death of daugh

DATELAND, Ariz. An illegal immigrant has been arrested on charges of felony child endangerment after a Border Patrol S-U-V ran him and his daughter over Sunday evening near Dateland.

The Yuma County Sheriff's Office says the 26 year-old man was hospitalized for three days following the incident, which happened in the desert about ten miles southeast of Dateland.

The Border Patrol says the man and his daughter were apparently hiding in the brush when a Border Patrol agent in an S-U-V searching for illegal immigrants inadvertently ran them over.

The 12-year-old girl died at the scene.
