Man who allegedly shoved woman on casino bus in Bethlehem is in country illegally, court papers say

A New York man in the country illegally was arrested with multiple fake IDs after shoving a woman on a bus arriving at the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem, according to court records.

Julio Perez-Sardinaz, 41, of Flushing, N.Y., was detained by casino security after police say he shoved a woman, making her mouth bleed.

When questioned by police, Perez-Sardinaz presented a Massachusetts ID with a photo that didn't match his appearance. Police say he was also in possession of a female Pennsylvania ID that he said belonged to his friend Rosa, even though the name on the ID didn't match that of his friend.

Inside Perez-Sardinaz's wallet, police found several casino player cards, court papers say, along with a worn permanent resident card that had a photo that matched the suspect's appearance.

Through their investigation, police determined Perez-Sardinaz's true identity and learned he was in the United States illegally and bought the residency card for $40 in New York.

Perez-Sardinaz was arraigned before on-call District Judge Robert Hawke on charges of tampering with or fabricating evidence, tampering with public records, providing false ID to police and harassment. He was sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $20,000 bail.
