County asks for more money to house convicted illegal aliens

SAN BERNARDINO — The county is seeking more money to cover the cost of housing illegal aliens in its jails.


In San Bernardino County, more than 4,000 illegal aliens were jailed last year alone, which cost the county roughly $24 million, said San Bernardino County 1st District Supervisor Brad Mitzelfelt.


Last year the federal government coughed up just $591,155 in reimbursement funds, two percent of what the county spent.

No more money! Start deporting these illegals before they get to our jails and we wouldn't have this problem.

Shouldn't cost 24 million to house 4000 criminals. Start cutting the fat in the prisons. They don't need cable TV or game rooms. Put them to work picking crops, digging ditches, they won't have too much free time then.

They can raise their own food all year, they eat what the plant. They are criminals, not hotel guests. Start making them pay their own way.

Yea, and start deporting them after they serve their sentences so we reduce the likelihood of recidivism from these illegals!
