What can happen to CAFTA ?? To Americas FTA ??

What can happen to CAFTA ?? To Americas FTA ??

I want to know your opinion without imposing or suggesting mine. Please have you thought of these questions ???

    1) Can CAFTA be rejected by the House or Approved ??? ( Independent of your wishes or hopes. Probabilities ???

    2) Do you like the outcome of your answer to (1) or is it contrary to your best wishes. ????

    3) In case of CAFTA's rejection. Can it be renegotiaded ??? ... Or Approved later or ever ???

    4) In case of CAFTA's rejection. Would it mean the death of Future Trade Agreements or only some of them ??? ....Which of them ???

    5) In case of CAFTA's approval. Would it be a sick baby suffering from many diseases ???, like for example rejection by American Public Opinion. ??? Or having later amendments, patches or renegotiations by Congress or Executive ???

    6) In case of CAFTA' approval. Could it cost jobs to America ??? .... How Many ??? .... And to Central America ???

    7) In case of CAFTA's rejection what would be the main cause :

    a) Reasoned and Sound Concerns about American Jobs or Economy.
    b) Disgust or Unease with the president. For which reason ???
    c) Partisanship and next Congress Elections. Fear of not being reelected.
    d) Legitimate Concerns with Illegal Immigration.
    e) Disgust with Hispanics even if Legal ??. For what reason. ???

8 -- In case of CAFTA's approval what would be the main cause ????

    a) The power of Business and Money ???
    b) The power of a reelected President ???
    c) Pork Politics and Gifts : Subsidies, Bridges and Highways ???
    d) Fear of not getting money for congress reelection ???

Thanks for any other contributions or ideas.

    Hi Vicente!!

    Very thorough questions.

Question 1 - As things stand now, it's too close to call. I can not even give an opinion on probability as I hopeful it will be DEFEATED, but do not know or can even guess. Things are in such turmoil in our country right now....it's anybody's guess. The American People want the bill DEFEATED but the President wants it passed and as he did in the US Senate bought votes with American Tax money to sway the outcome in direct conflict with the Will and Best Interest of the American People.

People on down on this President because of his agenda that conflicts with our best interest as we see it.

I wish I could give you more on this, but I've got limited time today.

Will try to consider the questions in more depth later and post at least my opinion.

There are others more knowledgeable about the votes and where members of the House stand. I expect you will see input from others.

    Have a Great Day!!

    Judy :

    Thanks for your kindness.

In Business or publishing for Business it is very useful to have an idea of what is going to happen. Or how it might happen.

Whatever the Outcome YES or NO, after the result is known we have to analyze and study. So that we can predict results and events in the future.

Not only votes in the House are important. American Feelings are also important. That is another variable for Business, Money and Prediction.

    Thanks a lot

You're welcome. Most Americans positions according to polls and forums is that they are opposed to CAFTA and many feel they have been betrayed by this President.
