Melania Trump Visits Tucson Facility to Speak with Border Agents

First Lady Melania Trump returned to the southern border to visit a Customs and Border Patrol facility on Thursday, in another surprise trip.


The first lady landed in Tucson, Arizona with plans to visit a Customs and Border Patrol facility and host a roundtable discussion with law enforcement agents.



Melania Trump’s communications director Stephanie Grisham spoke to reporters aboard the flight, saying that the first lady would continue to advocate for the proper care of children apprehended at the border.


“She cares about children deeply,” Grisham said. “She also believes in strong border laws and treating everybody equally.”

She also confirmed that Melania Trump continued to speak to her husband about the issue and looked forward to meeting and listening to members of law enforcement.


The first lady is also expected to tour a border facility where illegal immigrants are held temporarily. A small group of journalists was allowed to travel with the first lady on condition that they kept the trip secret until she landed.



She did not wear the same jacket that sparked attention online during her first visit.

This plan devised by the White House is nothing more than a weak attempt at giving the appearance of caring and "heart" on family immigration/separation. Anyone that thinks Melania Trump came up with this on her own is fooling themselves. She's being used as a pawn to soften an issue we should have doubled down on!

I'm convinced the "zero tolerance" policy and separating the children from their parents would have worked if given half a chance. However, Trump decided to throw in the towel at the first sign of pressure from illegal alien advocates. I'm very disappointed that nobody seems to have the intestinal fortitude to do what needs to be done to greatly reduce asylum claims and illegal immigration!

What has the Executive Order to stop family separation actually done for you, Mr. President. As best I can tell our enemies are still thrashing you on the issue. Should have stuck to your guns!

Have confidence in what brought you to the place to make a decision and stick with it. Backing down under pressure from those that never voted for you and probably never will is not a good look.
