Memorial Services to be Held for Border Patrol Agent Killed in the Line of Duty

(Tuesday, July 28, 2009)

El Centro, Calif. – Memorial Services for fallen Border Patrol Agent Robert Rosas will take place on Friday, July 31 at 9 a.m., at Southwest High School, located at 2001 Ocotillo Drive, El Centro, California 92243.

On July 23, Agent Rosas was shot and killed by near Campo, Calif., after responding to suspicious activity in an area notorious for alien and drug smuggling.

The Border Patrol ceremony involves customary law enforcement services including: Border Patrol Honor Guard, folded flag presentation, 21 gun salute, echo taps, bagpipers, riderless horse, missing man fly-over, and dispatch last call.

Interment services will be held immediately following the Memorial at Evergreen Cemetery, located at 201 East Gillett Street, El Centro, California 92243.

Public Viewings for Agent Rosas will take place on July 30, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Faith Assembly Church, located at 320 South J Street, Imperial, California 92251.
