The Coalition by the Political Rights of the Mexicans Abroad reported that in 30 days they will present a plan for immigration reform to Barack Obama, announced Luis Pelayo, president of the Hispanic Council, with headquarters in Chicago, Illinois.
The coalition carried out this weekend a meeting in Mexico with representatives of the organization in diverse countries, in which they agreed to continue a plan of action to summarize the proposal, and they assured that this"does is not a proposal for the regularization of illegals in the United States, but to institutionalize immigration".
Pelayo, co-chairman of "Hispanics for Obama", indicated that they have the "word" of the president elect that he is going to review this matter, for which confidence exists that immigration reform can advance.
The civic proposal, that will be presented in not more than one month, strikes to eliminate the pursuit and the criminalization of migrant workers.
The project for regularization would not include constitutional modifications, it would cover the migration of peasants and professional workers, and it would be complemented in Mexico with the creation of a program for regional development, that support the economy of the country, said Francisco Garciadueñas, member of the Institute of Mexicans Abroad, with headquarters in Los Angeles, California.
