Man Wanted For Sex Crimes Arrested by Border Patrol

EL CENTRO, Calif. – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Centro Sector arrested an illegal alien Thursday night with an active warrant for a sexual offense.










The incident occurred at approximately 10 p.m., when agents assigned to the El Centro Station encountered a man who illegally entered the United States approximately 23 miles west of the Calexico Port of Entry.

Agents placed the man under arrest and transported him to the El Centro Sector Rally Point for further processing.

Records checks revealed that the man, a 41-year-old illegal alien from Mexico, has an active warrant for “Lewdness with a Child Under 14” and “Sexual Assault with a Child Under 14” out of Nye County, Nevada.

Additionally, the man was ordered removed from the United States by an immigration judge on March 18, 2004.

The man was turned over to the Imperial County Sherriff’s Office who will assist in the extradition to the Nye County Sherriff’s Office.

Once the man’s case is adjudicated, the U.S. Government will seek removal proceedings from the United States.

In fiscal year 2021, which began Oct. 1, El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents arrested and/or removed six individuals either convicted or wanted on sexual offense charges.
