I've heard there are vigils going on in LA and San Diego tomorrow too. Hope there are many across this country.

Danbury vigil scheduled for jailed border agents
    Jan 12, 2007

DANBURY -- A vigil is planned for Saturday in Danbury for two U.S. Border Patrol agents jailed for shooting a drug-smuggling suspect as he fled across the Rio Grande.

Agents Jose Alonso Compean and Ignacio Ramos were sentenced to 12 and 11 years in prison for shooting Osbaldo Aldrete-Devila in his buttocks as he tried to run. The man was trying to smuggle marijuana from Mexico into the U.S. The agents thought the suspect had a weapon.

A dozen members of the U.S. House of Representatives wrote a letter to President Bush demanding pardons for the agents.

Members of the U.S. Citizens for Immigration Law Enforcement , a Danbury-based group, plan to hold a vigil Saturday in front of the Danbury Library from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to raise awareness about the case.

This article makes it sound like the agents are now in jail but we know that isn't the case.
