Mexican Consulate offering legal help to DACA recipients

Mexican Consulate offering legal help to DACA recipients

    by Adriana Candelaria

Mexican Consulate is plans for legal clinics expected Sept. 20

The Mexican Consulate in El Paso will help pay for the renewal of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals paperwork, according to Marcos Bucio, Mexico’s consul general in El Paso.

Bucio said the service is being offered to DACA recipients with low income.

“Many (DACA recipients) have been working. The truth is they’ve been an asset, not a burden to the United States,” Bucio said.

The consul’s effort to help DACA recipients pay for the renewal of the permits comes after the Trump Administration announced Tuesday that the Obama-era program would be phased out.

Bucio estimates there are nearly 1,000 DACA recipients in El Paso.

“Talk to your consulate. Don’t be afraid,” Bucio said.

While Congress has the daunting task of coming up with a replacement for DACA, the Mexican consulate is writing letters to local representatives, asking them to consider the contributions of DACA recipients.

"[DACA recipients] are a good thing for the United States and go accordingly to the immigration culture of this great country where they've positively asserted themselves and are complying with the law," Bucio said.

The free legal clinic is planned to happen September 20th. The consulate is still planning out locations and times for the event.

Why don't they help and encourage them to return home? Mexico needs more educated and skilled citizens. Offer them opportunities to help their home nation.

Mexico wants their citizens, the illegal aliens, to help build their nation, continue the corruption, send billions in remittances. It is a shame that America wants billions to leave each year to Mexico while its citizens compete for jobs and keep their monies here.

They don't want them. They're like pit bulls at the pound.
