Mexican gov't pays off $1.4B in debt
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
MEXICO CITY -- Mexico has paid off $1.41 billion in foreign debt to ensure its financial stability through next year's presidential elections, Mexico's Treasury Department said Wednesday.
The country has paid off a portion of 10 bonds due between 2007 and 2033 using funding purchased from the central bank, the department said in a news release.
President Vicente Fox has promised to cover financing needs through 2007 to protect the economy from the financial crises associated with earlier presidential transitions.
The announcement came as a surprise, but "is very positive," said Morgan Stanley analyst Gordian Kemen.
The government still has $430 million more than what is needed to pay $2.9 billion in 2006 debt payments.Support our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & Amnesty by joining our E-mail Alerts at http://eepurl.com/cktGTn

Well, looks like Mexico is "getting solvent" while we go deeper into debt supporting their poor and unwanted population.
Grrrrrrr!!!

That reminded me of something that I heard on Lou Dobbs the other night that is going to BOGGLE YOUR MINDS. He said that this President has BORROWED MORE MONEY than ALL OF THE PREVIOUS 42 PRESIDENTS COMBINED! MORE than ALL OF THEM! I was just STUNNED.
So, I'm just THRILLED for Mexico. It won't be long before we will have reverse illegal immigration. Mexico will be so solvent that AMERICANS will be sneaking across the border for THEIR jobs."POWER TENDS TO CORRUPT AND ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY." Sir John Dalberg-Acton

Bootise--yours is the second post I've seen suggesting that very thing. The other one was on a newspaper forum.
I sure hope we're not too late!! While Mexico may be a nice place ot visit in certain areas, I can assure Americans they won't like working there.A Nation Without Borders Is Not A Nation - Ronald Reagan

Boy--THAT is a FACT. I think it would be a TERRIBLE place to work. I don't even think it's a GREAT place to VISIT! My one visit was a DISASTER and that is one place that I will NEVER visit again.

And, I DID get sick! I was SO SMART for the WHOLE TRIP UNTIL we were at the airport waiting for our flight and I needed to take ONE PILL! That was my downfall. ONE SIP OF WATER OUT OF A FOUNTAIN at the AIRPORT for goodness sakes! By the time I got home, I was a sick puppy. And, that was ONE of the deciding factors about NEVER returning to that cesspool. And, I was just in Cancun. I bet Mexico City would REALLY be a cesspool. Cancun was really pretty IN THE HOTEL, TOURISTY area but, leave that area and all you see is POVERTY and people CHASING you to buy stuff from them. It was SCARY when we just went to the downtown area of Cancun. NO MORE. NO MAS!!!

You know Bootsie, I've heard that so many times and I can not figure out why Mexico has a Tourist Trade. I just wouldn't enjoy myself in a place where I feared a drop of water might touch my lips and immediately come down with Montezuma's Revenge.
