A 76-year-old Mexican woman tried to cross the border into Arizona with cocaine strapped to her leg, officials say.

Customs officers in Nogales say they discovered three pounds of cocaine strapped to the woman's leg Tuesday as she tried to walk through the Morley pedestrian gate in downtown Nogales, according to a news release from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

She told officers she was headed into the U.S. for a day of shopping.

The cocaine was seized and the woman turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement for further investigation. The cocaine hd an estimated street value of $127,000.
