Mexico asking Latin American countries to unite over fight against U.S. immigration bill

MEXICO CITY – Mexico is asking Latin American governments to build a united front to fight U.S. plans for a border wall, the foreign secretary said Wednesday.
Foreign Secretary Luis Derbez said during a news conference that Mexico has contacted several governments in the region to ask them to denounce the U.S. measures, passed by the U.S. House of Representatives Friday, to build a 700-mile wall to keep out migrants.

Derbez, who earlier this week called the wall "stupid," said he also plans to travel to Washington on Dec. 29 to discuss the matter with Robert Zoellick, the U.S. State Department's No. 2 official.

During a regional energy summit earlier this month in Cancun, Derbez said Mexico asked the governments of Central America, Colombia and the Dominican Republic to join its fight.

Derbez said he told the leaders "we should have one voice" soundly rejecting the bill.

Mexico also has hired a public relations firm to improve its image in the United States, and officials want to provide information to different sectors north of the border so "it is understood that there are Salvadoran, Guatemalan, Honduran and Brazilian migrants. There are a large amount of people of different nationalities other than Mexican who contribute to this society."

Many Mexicans, especially those who have spent time working in the U.S., feel the proposal is a slap in the face to those who work hard and contribute to the U.S. economy.

Your goal in having these daily barages flying out of Mexico is also to anger the people fighting to secure our borders and to enforce immigration laws, and to remove the people who you have so skillfully guided and in many cases probably forced to break U.S. laws.

You are a tyrannt. It is CLEAR that you FAILED to correct the corrupt government which rules the Mexican people, if you really ever had that goal in mind to begin with. Soon you will be out of office, and you are making a last ditch effort to succeed with a plan that is devastating and wrong for the people of the United States of America, as well as the people of Mexico.

You, and people like you must be stopped. The voice of the Mexican people has been quieted for too long. The people in Mexico put up and up and up with this nightmare form of life which exists for them, while the elite live like kings and queens. Why don't they do anything about it, scream, yell, protest....because YOU have succeded in SILENCING your own people. You, Mr. Fox are not far off from being as low down and dangerous as Saddam Hussein.

Do you remember what happened to the statue of Saddam ? Remember how the Americans along with the coalition through a rope around that statue's neck and brought it crumbling to the ground ? Did you see that, Mr. Fox ? You are deserving of that same treatment, and a growing number of Americans will begin a strong push to stand up for the poor people of Mexico by toppling the existing government.

You are a rude, crude, and desparate person. Can you IMAGINE someone like Tony Blair of England behaving in the pathetic manner in which you behave ? You go to these summits and meetings and act like you have any credibility, but you don't. Every decent leader and every informed citizen around the world is on to you 100%. You are one of the biggest laughing stocks of the world.

Tony Blair would NEVER insult and purposely inflict harm on the U.S. or encourage the breaking of U.S. laws. Only someone as low down and desperate as you would do something like that.

Your goal is to anger us, and it is working. You want us to say the wrong things, and maybe even do the wrong things. But we won't. We will continue our winning battle over this through all legal means available to us, and Mr. Fox it will be the side of lawfulness, principle and respecting the rights of the people which will triumph.

You are headed to a fate and disaster similar or perhaps just the same as Saddam Hussein. If you recall, he had a big mouth too. He stood all dressed up in his presidential attire looking in charge. He kept the people of Iraq silent. He angered the American people.

If the shoe fits, wear it. And speaking of shoes, how about handing our some of your wife's shoes to some barefoot Mexicans, you fool.
