Dream Act to come back in lame-duck session

    http://missionlocal.org/2010/09/the-dre ... ils-again/

[quote]The DREAM Act had bipartisan support when it was first introduced in Congress, in 2001. This is the most attention the legislation has received in the Senate since it was voted down, 52-44, in 2007. Because of yesterday’s vote, action on the bill will be delayed at least until after the elections.

That's what they think, but if we devastate them in the elections on Nov 2, Congress would face a near national riot if they tried to pass anything as controversial as Dream or Comprehensive Amnesties during the lame duck.

Also, if we win big enough in Nov. 2, we can also rescind any law passed during the lame duck session.

It all depends on what the Senate has on the agenda.

If a new tax bill doesn't get a vote before the Nov. elections, then the Senate will have to debate it during the lame duck session. The Bush tax cuts expire on Dec. 31, and the last thing the Dems want is taxes going up on the middle class. Since the tax issue is another partisan battle, it might take the whole lame duck session. And not leave any time for other issues.

I hope so as well. I've attended numerous tea party rallies and participated in primary elections. This is not the first story I've read that has hinted that the dems will try to push through bad legislation in the lame duck session. I've also read stories saying they wanted to pass cap and trade and other items then as well. I was amazed at the people in the article saying this - thinking, what do they know that I don't? I'm very concerned after seeing the way they passed healthcare, over the weekend during afterhours. Very sneaky and sleazy, and I'm afraid of a repeat with the Dream Act or Amensty.

I definately wanted to stop by alipac to give the info, because I know it's ground zero for patriotic efforts to save our country!
