The Inter-Press Sevice (IPS) is reporting that the head administrator of the Mexican Superintendency of Tax Administration, Raul Diaz, has confirmed that his government is building a wall in the state of Chiapas, along the Mexican/Guatemalan border.

The official reason is to stop contraband from coming into Mexico, but as Diaz admitted: “It could also prevent the free passage of illegal immigrants.â€

Mexico has figured out they can be as hypocritical and arrogant on this issue as they please because they know the our government as well as so called "political leaders" will simply ignore or tolerate it.

Mexico has nothing to lose because the United States will never call mexico on it, at least not this current administration. We're probably paying for the fence.

Yes, I am berating Mexico too for it's blatant hypocrisy, but in a small way if an effective Mexican/Guatamalen border wall can cut down on illegal immigration from Central and South America through Mexico it might result in a steep reduction of illegal immigration into the US too.

LadyStClaire: I saw that O'Reilly show too. O'Reilly did a fairly good job of demanding an answer as to why Mexico was building a wall, yet criticizing the U.S. for doing the same thing. Hernandez actually claimed that Mexico was building its wall as a favor to the U.S. in order to keep illegal Central Americans out of the U.S. When asked directly if the leaders of Guatemala should be offended, he said of course not. Unbelieveable. And McCain wonders what happened during the last election. Maybe he lost because he had Juan Hernandez on his campaign staff.

Wow they're not building a fence, they're building a wall. So now all those illegals coming from so. america will now have to pay the mexican gov. an entry fee. And our illegal img. problem will basically stay the same. Outta 50 states only one state is willing to stand up to the whole nation of mexico. I want a wall too! A nice big high thick one, with guys walking on top of it. "The Great Wall of America"
