Mexico pushes back on Trump claims over immigration

Mexico's foreign minister pushed back Sunday against President Trump's claims that Mexico is "laughing" at the U.S.'s immigration laws and doing "NOTHING" to stop people from crossing the border into the United States.

"Every day Mexico and the US work together on migration throughout the region," Luis Videgaray Caso tweeted. "Facts clearly reflect this. An inaccurate news report should not serve to question this strong cooperation. Upholding human dignity and rights is not at odds with the rule of law. Happy Easter."

Trump on Sunday tweeted criticism of Mexico in an effort to draw more support for his proposed border wall, apparently in response to a segment shown on "Fox & Friends" earlier that day. Videgaray Caso appeared to allude to that report in his tweet.

"Mexico is doing very little, if not NOTHING, at stopping people from flowing into Mexico through their Southern Border, and then into the U.S.," he tweeted.

"They laugh at our dumb immigration laws. They must stop the big drug and people flows, or I will stop their cash cow, NAFTA [North American Free Trade Agreement]. NEED WALL!"

He added that "big flows of people" are attempting to cross the border to "take advantage" of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which he rescinded, that offers legal protection to certain immigrants who were brought to the U.S. illegally as children.

"They want in on the act!" Trump tweeted.

I don't know about that, Beezer. I don't think seeing "JESUS" is a rare occurrance in Mexico. There's a Jesus Rodriguez, Jesus Jose, Jesus Martinez, Jesus ... etc. The name Jesus in Mexico means God rescues. Jesus is a very popular name in Mexico.

I think Mexico has been doing more lately than it used to. They realize that if they simply let migrants from Central America cross in----ostensibly going "El Norte"---they might also get stuck in Mexico, and they don't want that, either.
