Mexico, Spain struggle to reach guest worker deal

Mexico, struggling to convince the U.S. Congress to grant millions of undocumented workers legal status in the United States, is also having trouble reaching an immigration agreement with Spain.

Spain and Mexico said on Thursday they were still negotiating a treaty that would allow some 40,000 Mexicans a year to take part in a guest worker program there, an idea that was first agreed to in principle in 2003.

Government ministers from the two countries failed to reach a final deal after two days of meetings in the Mexican capital, despite Mexican Foreign Minister Luis Ernesto Derbez's announcement this week that an agreement was "about to be reached."

Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos said on Thursday that Spain and Mexico had "confirmed their willingness to continue conversations about the negotiation of a bilateral accord on Mexican migrant workers, so the commitment is still there."

If the agreement is reached, the Mexicans would work temporarily in tourism and the service sector in Spain.

President Bush asked Congress in January 2004 to pass a guest worker program that would benefit millions of Mexican immigrants in the United States.

But two competing bills have run into trouble in the Senate, where some Republicans want to link changes to immigration laws to increased security on the U.S.-Mexican border.

You can't blame everything on the US.
Spain doesn't want all of those Mexicans either.
At least they have an ocean between them.

Forget Mexicans in Spain! The majority are Ecuadorans and Peruvians from what I see on Spanish television. Spain is the mother country for Latin America as England is for us, Canada, Australia, India etc....

My wife has a friend in Spain from Colombia. She went there when Colombians only needed a passport to visit Spain. Her husband was already there so she went with the kids. Then, they were there illegally, but this new socialist government granted an AMNESTY and now she and her 2 or 3 kids have residence. Sound familiar?

Spain, however, I understand is starting to think, enough is enough! Colombians now need a visa to visit Spain and Costa Rica too! Aruba has a problem with illegals from Colombia and Venezuela! Costa Rica has had problems with Nicaraguans and Salvadorans. It isn't just a US thing!

The people from the dirt poor nations are going to run to the rich ones unless somebody says NO MORE!

We have to say NO MAS or we will be just as poor!

MEXICO!! STOP EXPORTING YOUR PEOPLE! ARE YOU NUTS? ARE YOU REALLY AS WACKO AS YOUR ACTIONS DEMONSTRATE?

Nobody wants your people. Wake up!! Put all the people exporting effort into coming up with new products, new technology, schools, education, hospitals, tourism, and make a nice nation for your people.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU MEXICO? ARE YOU INSANE? ARE YOU REALLY THAT RACIST, REALLY THAT CRUEL, REALLY THAT STUPID?

Create jobs for your people. If you do not know how, then hire some people who do. Create your own new industries. Put your people to work. Get them their farms back. Kick the genetically-engineered freaks from the US OUT OF MEXICO!!

WHAT WERE YOU THINKING TO LET THEM IN TO BEGIN WITH?

My God, get off your butts and do something right for a change.

Right!! And this is not unusual. This is normal. This is the way it has always been throughout history around the world. Mexico is trying its people the same way African Tribe Leaders did a long time ago. Mexico is "negotiating" with countries to get rid of its people for money, the transfer payments back into Mexico. Mexico should be trying to create jobs for its people in its own country.

If the United States Government tried to do this with Americans, what would we think about that?

Did you all know that 1 child in 4 in the United States lives below the poverty line? That is 25% of our American Children.

And the US Supreme Court, and Janet Marguia of National Council of La Raza, and Governors, and Congressmen, and US Senators, and El Presidente--Sombrero Man, and the Catholic Church, and the American Civil Liberties Union, and the Southern Poverty Law Center, and the Ford Foundation, and David Rockefeller, and the US Department of Labor, and the National Lawyers Guild....think we have room for millions of foreign aliens to enter the United States? To do what? Increase poverty for themselves; 25% of the American Children already in poverty; and the next 25% of American Children the illegals will pull into poverty by taking their parents jobs and business opportunities away from them?

And, this is Christian? And, this is Moral? And, this is to quote La Raza Traitor, Janet Marguia, to show "we are better than that"?

These people are Pure Evil. Either they are SO IGNORANT that they do not understand the consequences of their agendas or they really are that cold-blooded that they would not only risk the sovereignty of the United States, which means our freedom and liberties and the future of the American People, they would promote poverty subjecting helpless American Children to lives of "nothing".

NO AMERICAN who understands this issue can support illegal immigration; or giving jobs or benefits to illegal aliens; or granting amnesty to illegal aliens or anything except immediate deportation.

The future is long and we hope eternal. Those here now have an obligation to protect our resources; our space; our land; our oil; our economy; our companies; our workers; our families; our children; our people, our rights, our liberties, and everything that matters to us to ensure that everything our future generations need to have happy, successful lives is here for them.

We are just Custodians of this Place called America. It is not ours to squander on foreign nationals to feed the greed of Globalists or Politicians in Washington or ours to give to a greater community or other nations or the United Nations or the World Trade Organization.

America is a Living Trust.

We, as Citizens, are but the mere Executors of That Trust That Protects That Beautiful Place Called America.
