    Mexico's Latest National Embarassment...

The incident that has now circled the world with regards to the what happened in yesterday’s soccer game in Torreon, Coahuila will now hopefully trigger a new cause of action in the country of Mexico against the Drug War.

The horrifying events that took place outside the Territorio Santos Modelo stadium yesterday when a gunfight broke out at road checkpoint outside the stadium which lead to panic inside of it will hopefully be enough of a national embarrassment for the president and his administration to go to new extremes to reduce the violence in Mexico.

This most recent incident has now affected what was thought to be one of the few last safe havens from the violence in Mexico, soccer stadiums. Now more than ever people will be screaming for action to be taken in the highest levels of the Mexican government.

The national sport of soccer is one of the few things that people have to forget about the violent situation that Mexico is going through, at least for a couple of hours each week. Some people will spend a considerable amount of their weekly income to make it out and support their club as for some that is the only thing they have to look forward two every two weeks when the local team plays at home.

You take that away or endanger that, you are taking away a big part of some people’s livelihood.

Thankfully no one was hurt inside the stadium yesterday evening. It was a cheap lesson taught to a government that will pay a very high price if it doesn’t get off its ass and do something about it.

WE have sent our military over there for years to train their policemen and they use that against us. We have given Mexico millions to "help" them with their drug wars. I know people balk at legalizing drugs, but if our two governments prosper from drug money and there is no money to be made from these drugs, then it will stop. If the cartels can't make money off these drugs, they will stop. Yes, they will find something else, but in the meantime.... Think of the billions of dollars we have spent on this so called drug war, that it is just getting worse. That money COULD be spent on paying down our debt.

2 Shot in San Francisco Parking Lot After Raiders-49ers Game

    Published August 21, 2011
    Associated Press

San Francisco – Two men were shot and wounded in the parking lot of Candlestick Park after a preseason NFL game Saturday night between the San Francisco 49ers and the Oakland Raiders, police said.

The shootings occurred shortly after the 49ers' 17-3 victory, police Sgt. Michael Andraychak said.

A 24-year-old man was treated at San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening injuries, and a 20-year-old man was hospitalized and was expected to survive, Andraychack told The Associated Press. Their names have not been released.

August 20: A police officer holds up a bloodied shirt as they investigate the scene of a shooting just outside of lot L at Candlestick Park, where the San Francisco 49ers had just finished playing the Oakland Raiders in San Francisco, Calif.

Police Sgt. Frank Harrell that the 24-year-old man was wearing a T-shirt with a derogatory comment about the 49ers and was shot two to four times in the stomach, according to reports in the Oakland Tribune and the San Francisco Chronicle. He drove his truck to a gate and stumbled to security, Harrell said.

The other victim was shot earlier and had superficial face injuries, Harrell said.

"We are treating it as separate shootings, but we believe they are related," Harrell told reporters outside the stadium.

Harrell said police took a man in a Raiders jersey off a party bus before it left the stadium and were calling him a suspect.

The suspect and the two victims had all attended the game, Harrell told the newspapers.

The 49ers issued a statement acknowledging the shootings and the investigation, but offering no further details.

There was at least one fight in the lower bowl of the stadium during the game, but it was no immediate indication that it was connected to the postgame shootings.

The violence was not the first involving a San Francisco sports team's game this year.

In March, San Francisco Giants fan Bryan Stow was severely beaten by two men in Los Angeles Dodgers gear outside Dodger Stadium after the teams' season opener. He remains in San Francisco hospital with in serious condition with brain injuries. Two suspects have been charged in the case.
