A 14-year-old girl home sick from school is caught in a home invasion. Middletown police say the suspect is an illegal alien and they're not sure what his intentions were.

Rachel Gantz says she was upstairs sleeping when she heard her dogs start barking and doors opening and closing. That's when she says she went downstairs and continued to hear noises so she decided to call her mom and moments later decided to call 911.

That's when she says she saw 20-year-old Nihat Yildirim standing in her living room barricading the backdoor to her home with furniture. She says he was holding bowls of water and began speaking to her in a foreign language. She says moments later police showed up.

" I was just scared the whole time because I didn't know what was going to happen. And it's still hard to sleep because it sticks with you," says Rachel Gantz

Her mom says she's just happy the police showed up when they did.

"What she was describing he was barricading the doors, and I thought if he was doing things like that he was not there to steal stuff," says Becky Gantz, Rachel's Mom

Police say Yildirim lived just a few houses down from Gantz and had worked for a construction business. He was fired two days ago.They also say he's a Turkish citizen and that his visa had expired in November. The suspect is facing multiple charges including burglary, and false imprisonment. He is currently in dauphin county prison.

A young woman home sick from school was caught up in a home invasion yesterday. Middletown police were called to Spring Street after a 14-year old girl reported noises coming from the first floor of her home.

The girl was home sick from school and alone in the house when she heard the sound of furniture being moved. The suspect, Nihat Yildirim, 20, had barricaded himself in with furniture and officers had to force entry.

Yildirim was arrested and taken into custody. He is a Turkish citizen but his Visa expired in November.
