Missouri Immigration Bill Would Target Businesses

    Immigration bill would target businesses

JEFFERSON CITY — Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon proposed legislation targeting businesses that hire illegal immigrants in response to a case against a lake area developer who evaded payroll taxes on undocumented workers he had hired.

Just days after condominium developer Michael G. Schlup was ordered to pay almost $1 million in fines, penalties and back taxes, Nixon announced a plan to work with the legislature to impose sanctions on Missouri employers who use undocumented workers.

The case against Schlup was prosecuted by Nixon’s office and the Camden County prosecutor.

Schlup pleaded guilty to 14 counts involving failure to withhold or remit payroll taxes. He had as many as 30 illegal immigrants working on projects.

Schlup’s businesses, Schlup Investments Inc. and Plaza Gardens on the Lake Inc. were involved in the construction of the Plaza Gardens on the Lake condominium complex near Sunrise Beach.

Please give special attention to the fact that State and County investigations into allegations of tax fraud (and subsequent prosecution) resulted in this action by the state of Missouri's Attorney General. Missouri is not the only state moving in this direction and it's overdue in North Carolina.

Where do you think all the illegal aliens will move to when they leave Missouri, Mexico? If it were you, wouldn't you look for a U.S. state with already overwhelmed social welfare fraud investigation, free schooling, cheap or free colleges, sanctuary cities, and greedy developers gobbling up farmland to build out still more urban sprawl while providing jobs to as many "independent contractors" as they can find? States with large established illegal populations will provide a "welcome home" to friends and families of those already safe and sound behind the open door policies of sanctuary cities and acquiescent local lawmakers.

Get ready for the stampede North Carolina General Assembly! The taxpayers can hardly wait for the next round of tax increases to fund the invasion!
