MN:Illegal Alien Deported for Sexually Assaulting 3-Year Old
Illegal Alien Deported for Sexually Assaulting 3-Year Old
July 05, 2007 05:54 AM EST
by Jim Kouri - BLOOMINGTON, MN -- US Immigration and Customs Enforcement deported a man to Mexico yesterday who was convicted of sexually assaulting a 3-year-old girl at his family's daycare facility.
This removal is the latest in ICE's four-year initiative, Operation Predator, aimed at those who sexually exploit children. ICE announced June 7 that its Operation Predator arrests had topped 10,000 nationwide. That number includes 246 arrests in Minnesota.
Reyes Salazar-Clara, 18, a citizen of Mexico, illegally entered the United States in June 2005. On June 13, 2007, he was convicted of second-degree criminal sexual conduct for sexually assaulting a 3-year-old girl while she was being cared for as part of his family's Minneapolis daycare business.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Hennepin County District Court, police were called to Hennepin County Medical Center Feb. 21, 2007, because of a suspected crime. The 3-year-old patient had suffered a laceration and other injuries, apparently the result of a sexual assault. Further investigation led to the arrest of Salazar-Clara.
Salazar-Clara pleaded guilty to the original charge of second-degree criminal sexual conduct June 13, 2007, and was sentenced to 36 months in prison, which was stayed. ICE located him in the Hennepin County workhouse and took custody of him June 19.

I am very pleased that this felon was captured and is in custody. But it does seem a little irresponsible to just deport him. I have read many stories of how the illegals simply make u-turn at the border and re-enter the country. His family operates the day-care center so it is logical that he will attempt to make his way back to the same city.

Prison sentence stayed? What has america become? We let abusers of children free and our congress wants to let people like this be given a path to citizenship. What has happened to the land of laws?

If this was 40 years ago, they would have took this piece of crap and hung him out to dry. You can blame every bit of this on our so-called President.

This "chester the molester" should have been sent straight to prison for at least 10 years - then deported!
Nouveauxpoor is exactly right, what is to stop this child molester from returning to molest another American child? We certainly can't depend on on border security to stop him! Heck, the security we currently have probably won't even slow him down.
Prediction: He'll be back within 60 days."The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing" ** Edmund Burke**
