U.S.BORDER PATROL Weekly Blotter: (03/16/2011)

Border Patrol agents seized over 18,171 pounds of marijuana, 24.4 pounds of cocaine, and 68.6 pounds of methamphetamine. Agents arrested 14 criminal aliens and six gang members. There were five rocking incidents.

El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Calexico, California. Records checks revealed the subject had an extensive criminal history, including a conviction for sex with a minor, and had been previously removed from the United States.


Miami Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Haiti near Ruskin, Florida. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for conspiracy to distribute cocaine in the state of Florida and had been previously removed from the United States.

El Paso Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Sunland Park, New Mexico. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the Paisa gang. Records checks revealed the subject had an extensive criminal history and had been previously removed from the United States.


Laredo Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Laredo, Texas. Records checks revealed the subject had prior felony narcotics convictions and an active warrant of arrest for homicide issued in the state of California. The subject had also been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,792 pounds of marijuana and recovered a stolen Chevrolet truck near Gu Vo, Arizona. Agents discovered the truck and the marijuana while tracking foot sign of suspected illegal entrants in the desert.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Gila Bend, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had an extensive criminal history, including a prior felony conviction for sexual assault in the state of Illinois. The subject had also been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,122 pounds of marijuana, a sport utility vehicle (SUV), and arrested three illegal aliens from Mexico near Topowa, Arizona.

El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Calexico, California. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for lewd acts involving children, was a registered sex offender in the state of California, and had been previously removed from the United States.


Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,907 pounds of marijuana near Escobares, Texas. Agents observed and tracked foot sign leading into the brush, and discovered the abandoned marijuana.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 2,000 rounds of .40 caliber ammunition near Nogales, Arizona. Agents observed three subjects running towards Mexico, and subsequently discovered two abandoned backpacks containing the ammunition.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 68.6 pounds of methamphetamine, 24.4 pounds of cocaine, an SUV, and arrested two United States Citizens (USC) at the traffic checkpoint near Amado, Arizona. The subjects presented themselves for inspection and a Border Patrol canine alerted to the vehicle. A subsequent search by agents revealed the narcotics.

El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Honduras near Ocotillo, California. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the Mara Salvatrucha 13 (MS-13) gang. Records checks revealed the subject had an extensive criminal history and had been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,988 pounds of marijuana near Ajo, Arizona. The marijuana was found abandoned in the brush.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 893 pounds of marijuana and arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Gila Bend, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for a sex offense in the state of California, and had been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Three Points, Arizona. During processing, the subject was identified as a member of the MS-13 gang. Records checks revealed the subject had an extensive criminal history and had been previously removed from the United States.

San Diego Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,191 pounds of marijuana, a motor home with a trailer, and arrested a USC and a national of Cuba at the traffic checkpoint near Pine Valley, California. The subjects presented themselves for inspection and a Border Patrol canine alerted to the trailer. A scan using non-intrusive inspection technology revealed anomalies within the trailer and a subsequent search by agents uncovered the marijuana.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Lukeville, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for rape of a child in the state of Washington, and had been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 5,451 rounds of ammunition near Nogales, Arizona. Agents discovered the ammunition in three abandoned backpacks.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Sonoita, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for sexual abuse/sexual contact with a person less than 14 years old in the state of New York, and had been previously removed from the United States.

El Paso Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from El Salvador near Rodeo, New Mexico. Records checks revealed the subject was a registered sex offender in the state of New York, and had been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,208 pounds of marijuana near Lukeville, AZ. Agents discovered the marijuana while tracking foot sign through the desert.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Nogales, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for fondling a child in the state of California, and had been previously removed from the United States.

Records checks revealed the subject had an extensive criminal history and had been previously removed from the United States.


Laredo Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico in Alpine, Texas. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for fondling a child in the state of Florida, and had been previously removed from the United States.

The subject presented himself for inspection and a Border Patrol canine alerted to the vehicle. A scan using non-intrusive inspection technology revealed anomalies in the trailer, and a subsequent search by agents uncovered the marijuana.
