No Rest for CBP Officers at Douglas Port of Entry

Douglas, Ariz. – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers maintain their vigilance at the border this past week CBP officers stopping nine smuggling attempts, seizing more than 786 pounds of marijuana with a street value of $315,000. As part of the sustained enforcements were 17 immigration violations and four arrests for state and local warrants.

The dedication of the CBP officers was evident through out the entire week. The officers made six seizures of marijuana during the week with a combined value of $189,000; the CBP officers did not let up. As the weekend approached the officer’s sustained efforts resulted in three more seizures of marijuana valued at $126,000. Though there was high activity of illicit drugs this past week, CBP officers expanded their enforcement efforts to include the detection of 17 immigration violations and four arrests for State and Local warrants.
