MS-13 gang members arrested

ANDRADE - Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents arrested two MS-13 gang members in separate incidents Thursday and Monday, according to a press release.

Agents patrolling near Andrade saw five people trying to illegally enter the United States and stopped the group Thursday night. During processing, agents realized that one of them is an El Salvador national claiming to be an active member of the MS-13 or Mara Salvatrucha gang.

He was last deported in August 2011 and has an extensive criminal record. He is being held for prosecution.

Agents patrolling along the Colorado River on Monday night arrested a man found swimming across the international border. Agents later realized the man is also an MS-13 gang member, and the man is also being held for prosecution.
