JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - A month long search for a suspected child molester ended Wednesday with the capture of 27-year-old William Castillo. He was discovered in a Lucedale hotel room wearing a t-shirt that said, "I'm hiding from the cops."

The Jackson County Sheriff's Department began their investigation April 3 after receiving a report that Castillo allegedly molested a 10-year-old girl in a vehicle.

Castillo's last known residence was on Derry Street in Ocean Springs. A warrant was issued on April 23 for his arrest, but investigators said Castillo fled the area.

Then on Wednesday, May 19, U.S. Marshals caught up with Castillo at the Dorsett Hotel on Main Street in Lucedale.

Castillo is charged with Child Molesting (Touching a Child for Lustful Purposes), and is awaiting an initial court appearance. He's being held at the Jackson County Adult Detention Center.

Officials said Castillo is also an illegal immigrant, so U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) has placed a hold on him for their own investigation.
