Enterovirus D68 has killed five U.S. children and infected hundreds more in the past month and a half, doctors confirm, and some believe there may be a connection between the sudden outbreak and the throngs of unaccompanied, illegal-alien children now being housed across the country.

A 2013 study published in Virology Journal found EV-D68 in a small proportion of young people with flu-like symptoms in eight Latin American countries.
According to investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson, there are significant numbers of unaccompanied illegal minors in Kansas City and Chicago, the two cities where the current EV-D68 outbreak was first identified.
The outbreak happened in mid- to late August, right around the time when many children would have gone back to school and come into contact with their new illegal-alien classmates for the first time.
While not proving the Enterovirus outbreak originated with the Central American children, the CDC reports on its website confirmed EV-D68 cases in 44 states and the District of Columbia since mid-August. That includes states, such as Montana, North Dakota and Wyoming, which have very few illegal minors. Meanwhile, Arizona, a common crossing point and holding ground for illegal aliens, is one of the six states that have not had a confirmed case of EV-D68.

And Enteroviruses are not unheard of in the United States. They commonly circulate during summer and fall. The current strain, EV-D68, was first identified in California in 1962 and has rarely been reported in the U.S. since then. The CDC has not offered any theories to explain the current outbreak, which has led many to speculate.
TheConservativeTreehouse.com made the connection between the EV-D68 outbreak and the thousands of illegal immigrant children who have arrived in the U.S. this year in an article Sunday titled “Obama is Complicit in the Murder of Five Children – Illegal South American Immigrants Introduce Deadly Virus to U.S. Children.”

Conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly – author of “Who Killed the American Family?” – said she agrees Obama is responsible for allowing diseases to enter the country.
“There are all kinds of diseases in the rest of the world, and we don’t want them in this country,” Schlafly said. “And it’s Obama’s job to keep them out.
“Out of all the things he’s done, I think this thing of letting these diseased people into this country to infect our own people is just the most outrageous of all.”
Schlafly said the government should screen immigrants for disease before they enter the country, as was done at Ellis Island a hundred years ago.
“That was the purpose of Ellis Island – to have a waiting place where it was decided whether people were healthy enough or responsible enough to come into our country,” she said. “The idea that anybody can just walk in and carry this disease with them is just an outrage, and it is Obama’s fault because he’s responsible for doing it.”
In her new book, Schlafly wrote about Antonio Gramsci, the Italian communist who developed a strategy in the early 1900s to overthrow Western society from within.
Gramsci’s idea was to attack the foundations of Western society, including patriotism, national unity, tradition, language and the rule of law. However, Schlafly does not believe the present illegal immigration crisis is something Gramsci would have foreseen or incorporated into his plan.
“Gramsci lived some time ago, and I don’t think he had any idea that we were going to be so stupid as to let anybody into our country who walks up to the border,” she said.
When asked why the current administration hasn’t done more to prevent diseased illegal aliens or Ebola carriers from Africa from entering the country, Schlafly said Obama wants to make the U.S. more like the rest of the world.
“Obama doesn’t want America to believe that we’re exceptional,” Schlafly said. “He wants us to be just like everybody else, and if Africa is suffering from Ebola, we ought to join the group and be suffering from it, too. That’s his attitude.”

REVISED LIST OF QUARANTINABLE COMMUNICABLE DISEASES
By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including section 264(b) of title 42, United States Code, it is hereby ordered as follows:

Section 1. Amendment to Executive Order 13295. Based upon the recommendation of the Secretary of Health and Human Services, in consultation with the Acting Surgeon General, and for the purposes set forth in section 1 of Executive Order 13295 of April 4, 2003, as amended by Executive Order 13375 of April 1, 2005, section 1 of Executive Order 13295 shall be further amended by replacing subsection (b) with the following:

"(b) Severe acute respiratory syndromes, which are diseases that are associated with fever and signs and symptoms of pneumonia or other respiratory illness, are capable of being transmitted from person to person, and that either are causing, or have the potential to cause, a pandemic, or, upon infection, are highly likely to cause mortality or serious morbidity if not properly controlled. This subsection does not apply to influenza."

Sec. 2. General Provisions. (a) Nothing in this order shall be construed to impair or otherwise affect:

(i) the authority granted by law to an executive department, agency, or the head thereof; or

(ii) the functions of the Director of the Office of Management and Budget relating to budgetary, administrative, or legislative proposals.

(b) This order is not intended to, and does not, create any right or benefit, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by any party against the United States, its departments, agencies, or entities, its officers, employees, or agents, or any other person.

We are so angry about this!! My daughters are so scared since they have children that are 8 and 9 weeks old ! WHY is it fair to keep borders open and not limit travel for others, while our citizens children are getting sick and some have died!! We didn't agree to sacrafice ourselves or our families! Perhaps they should have had these illegal alien kids with the Virus go to Sidwell Friends school first??? Why not....shouldn't we all sacrafice equally?

While much of the attention of the American public has been focused on the possibility of an Ebola epidemic in the United States, another deadly disease is making its way across the nation with the consequences to this point being much more deadly.

With only one person, a foreign national having died in the U.S. from Ebola and a handful of known cases, seven American children have fallen victim to and died from Enterovirus 68, with approximately 800 known cases thus far in 46 states.

On Wednesday, Lancen Kendall of Phoenix, a five-month-old baby boy, was laid down for a nap by his parents and later found blue in the face by his father when he went to check on him. He was immediately transported to a local hospital where he died five days later, never having fully regained consciousness. Tests revealed that Lancen was infected by the Enterovirus, with more testing still underway to determine if it was the D68 strain.

The CDC, which is supposed to be taking a leadership role in preventing disease, has been relatively silent on the possible sources or in recommending preemptive measures of protection.

The timing of this outbreak coincides with the surge of illegals imported into the United States from Central America and their distribution throughout the United States, courtesy of the Obama regime and DHS’ Jeh Johnson. Only minimal or no health screenings were conducted during the process to determine whether or not they were bringing with them diseases which could infect the American people.

Enterovirus D68, which has been rare in the United States prior to this year, can range in severity from minimal cold-like symptoms to paralysis and death. It has been common in Central America and the suspicion that the outbreak is associated with the simultaneous arrival of illegals from that region is a logical one.

Dr. Jane Orient, The Executive Director of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, is of the opinion that the cause may in fact be related to the Central American invasion. Last month she said, “We don’t know where it’s coming from. …Are there immigrants from Central America, where this disease has allegedly been prevalent before? Should we be [looking at] the virus to see whether it’s like what’s been found in some of these countries that are just sending waves of children across our border and they haven’t been quarantined long enough to make sure they’re not sick?

Even if it were known that the Central American invasion is the cause, it is unlikely that the regime would discontinue their open-borders/amnesty push. They seem more than willing to accept the loss of innocent American lives in promoting their agenda, be it from disease, criminal violence or terrorism.

The American people, particularly the most innocent young children deserve to be protected by their government, not victimized, as collateral damage in the promotion of their socialist objectives and agenda.

Washington, D.C. – Today Congressman Brooks (AL-05) joined with Congressman Scott Garrett (NJ-05) in asking questions of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) regarding the respiratory illness known as enterovirus D68 (EV-D68.


Congressman Brooks stated, “This week I joined with Congressman Scott Garrett in sending a bipartisan letter to the CDC requesting answers to explain the recent rise of those infected with EV-D68. There is conflicting information about whether this recent and unusually deadly outbreak of EV-D68 is related to America's porous southern border, unrelated but historical and naturally occurring outbreaks in America, or some other cause.”

Congressman Brooks continued, "The latest data from the CDC states that 922 people in 46 states and Washington, D.C., are infected with EV-D68, including in Alabama, which is far more than have been infected in previous years. There’s no antiviral and no vaccine for this virus, and children are at a higher risk than adults. In order to minimize deaths, paralysis, and other effects of future outbreaks of EV-D68, it is important to first understand and know the cause of the current outbreak.

This necessarily includes the origins of EV-D68 as well as what the CDC and other agencies are doing to address this deadly virus.”

Dear Director Frieden:

We are writing to inquire about the recent spread of the respiratory illness known as enterovirus D68 (EV-D68. We are deeply concerned about the growing number of children becoming ill with EV-D68 and the severity of these reported cases.

Since August, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has confirmed that 922 people in 46 states and the District of Columbia have become ill with EV-D68, and at least seven children testing positive for EV-D68 have died. Most recently, a 21-month-old girl in Michigan died of the virus on October 10th, and a four-year-old boy from New Jersey died on September 25th. Has the CDC identified how the seven children who died while infected with EV-D68 contracted this illness? If so, how and when did these children contract this illness?

Additionally, Denver area hospitals have reported children experiencing muscle weakness or paralysis in the neck, back or, limbs after testing positive for EV-D68. Has the CDC been able to identify if the EV-D68 illness caused the muscle weakness and paralysis in these children? Furthermore, what measures are in place to ensure that health officials are properly identifying and testing suspected cases of EV-D68?


Although this disease was first identified in California in 1962, there have only been small numbers of reported cases in the U.S. over the past thirty years. What has the CDC done to identify the origin of this most recent outbreak? Moreover, has the CDC been able to identify why this outbreak has been more severe than previous years’ cases of EV-D68?

Given that this issue is of great importance to the health of our nation’s children and their families, we look forward to your timely response. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
