Accused Illegal Immigrant In Deadly DWI Crash

ROCKINGHAM, N.C. -- An illegal immigrant from Mexico is jailed and charged with killing a Rockingham, North Carolina man while driving drunk. It happened just before midnight on Saturday. Police say Eduardo Sanchez Alejandro crashed into a car being driven by 25-year old Reginald McEachian on Highway 74.

Witnesses saw Alejandro, and a passenger, run out of their car after the accident. K9 units found the driver hiding in the nearby woods, the passenger hasn't been found. "Whether you're here illegally or legally, do the right thing," said Brenda McEachian about the migrant worker now charged in her son's death. "What happened was not right." Alejandro is charged with 2nd-degree murder, felony hit and run and d.w.i. and is in jail without bond.
