N.C. - Harnett County resident indicted, charged with being in country illegally

RALEIGH — A Mexican native discovered living in Harnett County was indicted by a federal grand jury on a charge of illegal re-entry of a deported alien, according to a release from the office of the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina.
Antonio Plata-Ponce, 35, has previously been deported three times, the release said.
If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of two years in prison and a fine of $250,00.
Plata-Ponce was one of six residents indicted on the charge of illegal re-entry. The others were found in Wilson, Nash and Wake counties.
