BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) -
A man found in Bladen County has been charged with illegal reentry of a deported alien according to US Department of Justice release sent Wednesday afternoon.

ICE agents arrested Jesus Cervantez-Ruiz, 48, of Mexico, at a business in Bladenboro on March 19 and it was determined he was in the country illegally. Cervantez was previously deported two times.

In 2001, he was deported following a 1997 assault conviction in Robeson County. Cervantez was convicted of illegal re-entry on Oct. 17, 2017, and was subsequently deported.

Cervantez is facing a maximum of 20 years in prison, supervised probation, and a fine of $250,000 if he is convicted.
