Labor union to protest for immigration reform at offices of Republican congressmen

Protests aimed at garnering support for immigration reform are planned outside the offices of three Republican congressmen Wednesday and Thursday

They hope to convince the congressmen to vote for a landmark immigration reform bill that passes in the U.S. Senate, said Kevin Brown, vice president and New Jersey director for 32BJ of the Service Employee International Union, a labor union representing about 10,000 property service workers throughout New Jersey.

The bill would would open the door to citizenship to millions while pouring billions of dollars into security the border with Mexico.

"We think that it's time for all of Congress to stand up for immigration reform," Brown said.

The Wednesday protest will be outside the office of Rep. Leonard Lances's office in Westfield at noon and Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen's office at 4 p.m. On Thursday, protesters will head to Rep. Chris Smith's Hamilton office.

The protesters will hoist signs that say "New Jersey, Land of the Immigrants" and American flags, according to a SEIU press release.

SIEU flying American flags and signs "New Jersey, Land of the Immigrants"-- good grief, I just finished dinner. SIEU patriotic? when promoting a nation killing mass amnesty for foreigners? This is a joke -- right?

What to do is obvious, isn't it? Call these representatives and remind them the protesters are paid union workers who would never vote Republican. Remind them that real Americans are watching to see if the congressman will defend the United States against a foreign invasion. Remind them that the mega rich are literally trying to purchase laws for amnesty and we know it for what it is. Tell them no amnesty, not ever and we will be watching how they vote and act accordingly.
